As a 17-year veteran of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Ezery Beauchamp enjoys working as the Captain over Dispatch Operations for all nine Northern California Bay Area Counties where he manages over 140 personnel. As a law enforcement officer, Ezery has extensive experience in the field, as an administrator, and as an instructor. As a classroom instructor, Ezery is a subject-matter-expert in cannabis and central nervous system depressants which he facilitates in the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) course.
Ezery is a lifelong learner and particularly loves learning and modeling leadership especially given the dynamics of leading both sworn and civilian staff. This unique experience couples well with his instructor acumen as Ezery also teaches in the First-Line Supervisors Academy for newly promoted sergeants and civilian supervisors, is a certified Franklin Covey instructor for 7 Habits of Highly Effective People for Law Enforcement which he facilitates for newly promoted uniform and civilian managers.
As a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Master Instructor, Ezery developed a 24-hour course that speaks to the uniqueness of leading dispatch personnel and specifically addresses areas of conflict resolution, dealing with troubled employees, how to engage in difficult conversations, role transition, and helping dispatch supervisors to more effectively understand their role by improving on their requisite skills to increase their job performance.
Ezery holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from California State University, Sacramento and a graduate of the Sherman Block Leadership Institute, Class 267. As a field sergeant for seven years he also served as the Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP) coordinator for over 100 employees. His academic background, field experience, and classroom expertise allow him to focus on helping students to think critically by creating a safe environment in which diverse ideas are explored and perspectives examined to aide in the individual growth of the student.
