Ian Golditch was born in Fort Hood, Texas where his father served in the Army. Ian moved to San Bernardino several years later and attended local schools. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from National University.
Ian continued his quest for higher learning and earned a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from California Coast University. In 2002, he was hired by the San Bernardino County Probation Department as a Probation Corrections Officer (PCO). About a year later, he was hired by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff and the nickname "Goldie" stuck like glue.
With eight years on the Sheriff’s Department, Ian enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve (USNR) as a Master-At-Arms in July 2010. He took five months of leave from the Sheriff’s Department to attend boot camp in Great Lakes, Il and A school in San Antonio, Texas.
During his eight-year contract, Ian was assigned to the Navy Operation Support Center (NOSC) Moreno Valley. Ian received an honorable discharge in July 2018.
Ian has worked assignments at various patrol stations throughout the County of San Bernardino to include areas of the outlying deserts, inner cities, and bedroom communities. During Ian’s patrol time he was selected to work on the Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) at different stations, where he managed the local gang and sex offender registration and identification programs.
In 2015, Ian was selected and transferred to the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team Specialized Enforcement Division (SED), where he has been assigned to crime impact and training teams. Recently, Ian was promoted to Detective and also assigned to the department Training Cadre.
Ian has dealt with critical events on patrol and SWAT. He has experience responding to natural disasters, hostage situations and armed barricaded suspects. He was also a first responder at the Inland Regional Center terrorist attack, where he assisted bomb technicians search for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Ian also teaches train the trainer courses on active shooters for peace officers, dispatchers, and local school districts.
He has his Advanced POST certificate, and Academy Instructor Certification Course certificate (AICC). Ian is a cross sworn US Marshal assigned to the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force Team, and a veteran of the USNR.
