Originally from San Jose, California, Jessica moved to the Central Valley in 2004. She earned an Associate’s of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from San Joaquin Valley College in 2008. Jessica graduated on the Dean’s List and was immediately recruited by one of her instructors to work for the IRS as an armed security officer. The physical security level focused on the strategy of layered defense to defer, detect and mitigate attempts at unauthorized access to IRS controlled space and information, as well as complying with Department of Treasury, Interagency Security Committee (ISC) standards and policy. She became a sergeant within ninety days and supervised five of the IRS sites in Fresno, California.
After five years at the IRS centers, she decided to focus on serving her community in Los Banos. Jessica began her Law Enforcement career with the Los Banos Police Department as a Public Safety Dispatcher in 2014.
After five years of dispatching, Jessica decided to get involved in the Communications Training Program and transitioned new concepts for employee retention. Jessica serves as the President of her dispatch and community service officers association. She is the cheerleader of dispatch and lightens the day with her humor and truly meeting the needs of the department.
Jessica balances her home and career without missing a beat with the support of her husband of eighteen years. She is a proud mother of four children, ages 16,14,7 and 3 years old. She focuses on building a strong foundation for them and looks to Luke 6:48 for guidance, “He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against the house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.” The culture in law enforcement has imbed communication is key. Each one of her children beautiful and strong bring the upmost joy to her life.
Her greatest passion is raising her children in a community she serves. She never forgets where she came from and never takes her eyes off where she is heading.
