Lauren Bixler

“Your strongest muscle and worst enemy is your mind, train it well.”

Lauren was born and raised in Orange County, CA. She moved to the Coachella Valley where she completed the basic police academy from The College of the Desert Public Safety Academy in 2009. Lauren graduated as the class leader on the Dean’s List, earning the Top Cadet award, as well as the National Latino Peace Officer’s Award. She began her career in law enforcement with the Palm Springs Police Department as a Police Officer in 2009.
 

From 2010 to 2017, Lauren served an Explorer Advisor, as well as a liaison for the Palm Springs Police Department LGBTQ Committee. In 2014, Lauren earned the position of Field Training Officer, where she trained police officers to perform on their own. 


In 2017, Lauren was promoted to Detective of Property Crimes. During her time as a Detective, she has simultaneously held positions as a Property Crimes Investigator, Arson Investigator, and Crime Scene Technician. Lauren is also a certified operator and forensic analyst for Cellebrite. Lauren was also selected as a Designated Marksman for the Palm Springs Police Department.


During her time as a Detective, Lauren has investigated hundreds of crimes against property as well as persons. She has served numerous search warrants due to her position as a detective. Lauren served as a Crime Scene Investigator on homicide scenes and later as a Crime Scene Technician when processing evidence in the lab. 


In 2016, Lauren was selected as the Patrol Division Police Officer of the Year. In 2019, Lauren received Congressional Recognition for actively working to create a positive and inclusive environment for the LGBTQ community. In 2020, Lauren earned the Police Officer of the Year award as well as the Eisenhower Health Heroes Award.

 

Lauren is married and her wife is now retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of active service.
